Romantic Almaty

Almaty is the old capital of Kazakhstan. Don't assume that Kazakhstan, being such a landlocked country, is necessarily dry and without much vegetation. The entire city of Almaty is full of tall trees. It is a very beautiful and romantic city in Central Asia. There is a beautiful Orthodox church in the city center and a musical instrument museum, which is itself a cute little wooden house. The city's subway was built during the Soviet era. In addition to its transportation function, it also serves as an air-raid shelter. Therefore, like the Russian subway, it is built very deep. The subway station is also very distinctive. You can also check out their fresh food market, but nowadays it is mostly visited by tourists, and the prices of both fruits and dried fruits are not much more advantageous than those in Hong Kong. It is worth mentioning that apples originated in Kazakhstan, but according to local people, they have not developed the quality of apples, so the apples seen on the market are basically from China. The local varieties are small, crooked, sour apples.
For me, visiting all the above attractions is only part of visiting this city. What I appreciate most is their wide sidewalks with tall trees beside them. A few years ago, a coffee craze started in the area, so coffee shops can be seen everywhere. It feels so romantic to drink coffee in such a beautiful and clean place. Before I came here, I had heard that you could see snow-capped mountains by looking up from anywhere in this city. Unfortunately, it was either raining or cloudy during the few days I was in Almaty, so I was unable to see the Tianshan Mountains.
Most of the food in Kazakhstan is good. I think the most special thing is horse meat, because you can't eat it everywhere. Horse meat doesn't have a very distinctive taste and has a texture similar to beef, but it's certainly more expensive than beef. The white thing that the locals drink when they eat is not milk, but a drink similar to yogurt, which not every tourist can get used to. Locals believe that eating this with meat can aid digestion.
Most people in this city do not understand English and may not even be able to say the simplest yes or no. However, as long as they have Google Translate, communication is barrier-free. You can buy a local SIM card at the airport. The Internet access rates here are one of the lowest in the world, with 50G for just US$3.
This country is a very secular country with good public security and low prices.
