The Jordan Archaeological Museum

Situated in Amman's Citadel, the Jordan Archaeological Museum serves as a treasure trove for history enthusiasts. Established in 1951, the museum houses an extensive collection of artifacts spanning Jordan's rich history, from the prehistoric era to the Mamluk period.

The museum's exhibits are chronologically arranged, offering visitors a comprehensive journey through time. The prehistoric and classical sections showcase tools, pottery, and religious artifacts from civilizations like the Nabataeans and Romans. Highlights include the plastered human skulls from Jericho, some of the oldest human representations ever discovered, and the 'Ain Ghazal statues, a collection of Neolithic human figures dating back to circa 7200 BCE.
