🇮🇳 BETAAB VALLEY

Betaab Valley, nicknamed "Mini Switzerland," is quite a distance from Srinagar city. The roads are in poor condition in some areas, and bridges are under construction in several places. It took several hours to get there. Unfortunately, when we visited in mid-October 2025, the scenery within Betaab Valley was not very pleasant. There was a lot of trash and horse dung along the walking paths. The water in the rivers and streams was very low and dirty, and trash was everywhere. The children's playground was damaged and unsafe.

If you want to climb the mountain to enjoy the view, you can't. You have to pay to ride a horse, and there's a clear iron fence around it. It's too commercialized. It's a shame the beautiful mountain views are obscured by trash and iron fences. 😥😥
