Temple of Rama X: The Majesty of Thailand

On the way to Cheow Lan Lake from Phuket, we stopped by the magnificent Wat Bang Thong temple, which was built relatively recently in honor of King Rama X of Thailand (reigning since 2016) 👑. Previously, there was a Buddhist monastery on this site – some pagodas have even been preserved. They were restored, and now monks live there.

The place is peaceful and secluded, with not too many tourists. At times, the serene silence is broken only by the sound of bells and birdsong 🕊️.

☝🏻 You must remove your shoes before entering.

⚪ The main shrine is a gilded temple in the shape of a stupa (height – 46 m!).

The temple is beautiful and luxurious, definitely worth a visit 💙.
