Recommended for couples! If you're looking for a fine dining restaurant in Ubud

Bali has quite a few Michelin and fine dining restaurants. However, most of them are difficult to get into without a reservation made well before the trip.

In September 2024, during the black-and-white chef craze, I found this place, Honey&Smoke in Ubud, while searching for a fairly delicious course meal, even if it might not be at the fine dining level. You can dine here with just a reservation made the day before.

The first floor has a casual pub atmosphere where you can enjoy à la carte dishes and drinks lightly, while the second floor has a "First Class" sign on the door and offers a more atmospheric space for reserved guests.

Here, you can enjoy a truly delicious course meal at a reasonable price of 550,000 IDR (about 50,000 KRW) per person. You can also opt for wine pairing at 398,000 IDR, but honestly, this place is also a fantastic cocktail bar (certified by someone who has been to the world's best bars!), so I recommend ordering individual cocktails as you go. They have many signature cocktails, each of excellent quality.

The most impressive dish from the course menu was the fried zucchini flower. When you bite into the large fried flower, a creamy filling bursts out, and the texture and aroma of this ingredient, which I had never seen before, were amazing. The meat, which looked like kebab, at first seemed like minced meat but was actually chunky, giving a delightful chew and rich meaty flavor. The fish dish was very tender with harmonious seasoning, and the dessert was also a taste you won’t regret. Although it’s expensive by Bali standards, considering it as a Korean price, it’s a great value for the price. I highly recommend it to couples who want to have a nice atmosphere while dining during their Bali trip😉
