Shin's Hwaro

#HawaiiFlightTicketEvent

Compared to Kuta, Seminyak, and Canggu, Ubud doesn't have many Korean restaurants.
Probably because the area isn't very large, this time I'm posting about a Korean restaurant called 'Shin's Hwaro.'

First of all, the location is right in the center of Ubud.
It's about 600 meters from the Ubud Palace and less than a 10-minute walk.
It's located on a street where many travelers walk, so accessibility is very high. The kitchen is open style and feels relatively clean and organized.
The owner seems to have put a lot of effort into the interior design.

The pork belly came out first. Since I ordered 100g, the portion was really small.
The taste was, hmm... a bit disappointing. Not only the portion but there was a lot of fat, so aside from the greasy flavor, there wasn’t much else.
Also, there were quite a few burnt parts, which was not great.
I actually enjoyed it more because of the side vegetables that came with it.

Next, the spicy pork rice bowl and bibim noodles arrived.
The spicy pork was delicious.
It had a balanced sweetness and saltiness, and the taste was not much different from what you'd have in Korea.

The bibim noodles, however, were not good.
It's rare to find something both salty and tasteless at the same time, but that was exactly the feeling I got.
Personally, it was the most disappointing dish.
