Sultan Omar Ali Saifuddien Mosque

Omar Ali Saifuddien Mosque is an Islamic mosque in Bandar Seri Begawan, the capital of Brunei. The mosque sits on a 5-acre site and almost surrounded by a man-made lagoon. In the middle of the lagoon sits the Mahligai, an artificial barge in which the design is meant to resemble a ship. It is often considered as one of the most beautiful mosques in the Asia Pacific. It is a place of worship for the Muslim community, a major historical site, and a famous tourist attraction of Brunei.

The 24-hour layover gave us opportunities to explore and visit popular places in the capital. After a short sleep, we continued our a little adventure in Bandar Seri Begawan. We just walked going to places and it was weird because we just saw very few people walking so we thought it wasn't common there or just maybe mostly people have cars. Anyway, this mosque is absolutely gorgeous and the best thing is it's open to anyone not only for Muslims. Just be respectful.
