A Must Go Landmark for Toursist in Brunei

The Sultan Omar Ali Saifuddien Mosque is a signature Brunei Landmark, one of the oldest mosque named after the 28th Sultan of Brunei Darussalam. It is located in the heart of the city, Bandar Seri Begawan at Jalan McArthur, Bandar Seri Begawan BS8711.

The mosque's golden dome are covered in real gold leaf. The mosque has a 52m-high minaret makes it the tallest building in central of Bandar Seri Begawan. The mosque has a ceremonial stone boat sitting in the lagoon is a replica of a 16th-century mahligai (royal barge).

I arrived there in the evening. There is a park named Taman Mahkota Julbi Emas, located at the back of the mosque becomes the happening centre of city life in Bandar. Whenever the weather is good, can see individuals and families gather to walk, jog, and fly kites.

Behind the park, there is a footbridge leads over the Kedayan River to the stilt water villages on the Sungai Brunei.
