This ancient palace was built during the Ayutthaya period by King Prasat Thong but abandoned during the second fall of Ayutthaya.

It served as a royal residence from the Ayutthaya period to the Rattanakosin period, with renovations beginning during the reign of King Rama IV.

The palace is divided into the Outer and Inner Palaces, featuring architectural features and buildings that blend together various styles of architecture.

It is currently open to the public for 30 baht per person.
