Luang Pu Tai Hong Kong, also known by Thai-Chinese people as Ah Kong Tai Hong Zhou Si, was a compassionate Chinese monk who helped the poor and the unclaimed deceased. Due to his benevolence, he is highly revered by the Chinese community. This reverence led to the establishment of the Poh Teck Tung Foundation, which aids disaster victims and unclaimed bodies.
During the Chinese New Year festival, the Tai Hong Kong Shrine is a popular place for Thai-Chinese people to seek blessings and make merit by donating rice, coffins, and shrouds. It is believed that these acts of merit are significant and will bring positive energy to help us through difficult times.
The most convenient way to get there is by taking the MRT subway to Wat Mangkon station. The Tai Hong Kong Shrine is located opposite the Poh Teck Tung Foundation and the Plubplachai Police Station.
