The National Museum, Bangkok, was originally the Front Palace or the residence of Prince Maha Sura Singhanat during the reign of King Rama I before being transformed into a museum in 1934. It exhibits valuable antiques and artifacts that reflect Thai history and culture from prehistoric times to the Rattanakosin period. The interior is divided into several buildings, each displaying different topics such as Buddha images, Thai art, Khmer art, porcelain, and royal treasures. Highlights of the place
• Phra Thinang Siwamokhaphiman – The oldest building displaying Buddhist art and ancient Buddha images in Thailand
• Phra Buddha Sihing – The sacred Buddha image of the city enshrined in Phra Thinang Phutthaisawan
• Gold and royal treasures – Including royal regalia used in royal ceremonies
• Khmer art and antiques from the Dvaravati, Srivijaya and Lanna periods
• Historical buildings – Old buildings reflecting Thai architecture in the early Rattanakosin period

• Open Wednesday - Sunday 09:00 - 16:00
• Closed on Monday, Tuesday and public holidays
Entrance fee
• Thai people: 30 baht
• Foreigners: 200 baht
