Take a shortcut through the alleys of Chinatown✨️

I didn’t plan to spend the whole evening in Chinatown—but somehow, time disappeared between skewers and side streets.
It started with a walk down Yaowarat Road just before dusk. Red and gold signs buzzed to life overhead. A woman selling grilled squid handed me a skewer without a word—just a smile and a nod—and it was perfect. Smoky, sweet, a little chewy. I followed my nose from there.
Every corner had its own rhythm: a man pulling sugar into dragon’s beard candy, an old tea shop where locals sat and watched football on a flickering TV, a boy helping his grandmother serve bird’s nest soup in porcelain bowls. Somewhere in the mix, I stumbled into Soi Nana—not the famous one, but the Chinatown one—and found a bar behind a bookshelf where jazz played from a dusty vinyl and the cocktails came in porcelain teacups.
There was no map, no must-see list. Just moments, layered one after another, until it was close to midnight and I realized I hadn’t stopped smiling in hours.
