Enjoy street art along Khlong Ong Ang

Khlong Ong Ang

📍 Khlong Ong Ang is part of the canal surrounding the old city, approximately 750 meters long, stretching from the mouth of Khlong Mahanak to the mouth that flows into the Chao Phraya River. It also serves as the boundary between Phra Nakhon and Samphanthawong districts.

📒 In the early Rattanakosin period, Khlong Ong Ang was an important waterway on the Phra Nakhon side, lined with communities along both banks. It was a major center for selling Chinese and Mon pottery, which is believed to be the origin of the canal’s name.

🗒️ Originally, Khlong Ong Ang was a significant commercial area. Today, it has been transformed into a walking street, a new tourist attraction in Bangkok on weekends. On weekdays, visitors can also come to relax and enjoy numerous street art displays along both sides of the canal.

🚈 Getting to Khlong Ong Ang is very convenient with public transportation options including buses, BMTA, and the MRT Blue Line, alighting at Sam Yot Station.
