The former site of the Hubei-Henan-Anhui Branch of the CPC Central Committee is a national key cultural relic protection unit and a national patriotic education demonstration base. Located on Shoufu Road in the county seat, the site covers an area of 1,980 square meters and features five courtyards, seven old-style attics, and 61 rooms in total.
In February 1931, the Red Army captured Xinji (now Xinxian County), and the Party, government, and military organs of the Hubei-Henan-Anhui Soviet Area were relocated here. In May, the Party Central Committee established the Hubei-Henan-Anhui Branch Bureau and the Hubei-Henan-Anhui Military Commission. After the formation of the Hubei-Henan-Anhui workers' and peasants' armed separatist regime, this area became its political, military, and cultural center.
Here, the Party led the military and civilians in the border region in armed struggle, political power building, and economic and cultural development, successfully defeating the enemy's first, second, and third "encirclement and suppression" campaigns. On September 9, 1932, the fourth anti-"encirclement and suppression" campaign failed, with the fall of Xinji City. The Hubei-Henan-Anhui Central Bureau evacuated along with the Red Fourth Front Army.
With a subtropical monsoon climate, the former sites of the Hubei-Henan-Anhui Branch are a national demonstration base for patriotic education and are suitable for travel in all seasons.
The former branch's subordinate departments, including the Hubei-Henan-Anhui Provincial Committee's Organization Department, Propaganda Department, Women's Department, and the Young Communist Party's Bureau, as well as the residences and daily necessities of some leaders, have been well preserved to this day. A plaque inscribed by Comrade Xu Xiangqian, "Former Site of the Hubei-Henan-Anhui Branch of the CPC Central Committee," hangs above the main gate.
