Phra Phuttha Maha Chakraphat Wat Nang Nong

Phra Phuttha Maha Chakraphat Wat Nang Nong is the principal Buddha image enshrined in the ordination hall of Wat Nang Nong Worawihan in Bangkok. This Buddha statue is adorned in the grand attire of a Chakravarti (Universal Monarch) in the Mara Vichaya posture. It was created during the reign of King Rama III. The statue is notable for its elaborate and complete regalia, and it is renowned for its beauty and sanctity. Devotees believe they can pray for blessings related to work, wealth, love, and overcoming obstacles. There is a story that the original crown of the statue was taken to be placed atop the spire of the Phra Prang at Wat Arun, and King Rama III graciously ordered a new crown to be made and offered in its place.
