- Wat Prachasattham is located at the base of Rama VII Bridge in Bang Sue Subdistrict, Bang Sue District, Bangkok. Its original name was "Wat Sao Hin" because of the many ancient stone pillars within the temple grounds.
The temple's history is unknown, with no records of when it was built or who built it. However, some estimates suggest it dates back to the late Ayutthaya period or early Rattanakosin period, over 200 years ago. It is a public temple under the Mahanikaya sect, occupying approximately 9 rai of land.

Within the temple grounds is a sacred shrine called the "Phra Chao U Thong Shrine." It features a statue of Phra Chao U Thong, who migrated from U Thong to escape cholera and stopped here. He planned to use this area to establish a city in Nong Son Subdistrict, which would become the capital of Ayutthaya.
Phra Chao U Thong is located in the center of the temple's entrance on the left. It is said to be sacred and brings good fortune to those who pay homage.
