Batu Caves, located on the outskirts of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, is a sacred Hindu site and a popular tourist destination featuring a grand cave temple complex.
At the entrance, a towering golden statue of Lord Murugan, standing approximately 42.7 meters tall, greets visitors with its impressive presence. Behind the statue, a colorful staircase with 272 steps leads to the temple inside the cave. The cave interior exudes a mystical atmosphere, with high ceilings and natural rock walls creating a vast, awe-inspiring space.
Batu Caves is also renowned as a pilgrimage site during the Hindu festival of Thaipusam, held annually in January and February, attracting numerous devotees and tourists. The surrounding area is dotted with smaller temples and souvenir shops, offering a glimpse into the local culture.
