[Malaysia🇲🇾/Batu Caves: Beautiful colorful staircases and golden statues]

Batu Caves, located in the outskirts of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, is a Hindu holy site located inside a cave.

The 43m golden statue of Murugan (a Hindu god) at the entrance is a masterpiece✨

Next to it, there are 272 colorful steps, and we met wild monkeys🐒It was hard to climb to the top, but at the top of the steps, there was a stalactite cave inside a limestone cave, which was very mysterious✨

When I visited on March 23, 2024,

I was able to experience Hindu culture, such as celebrations for the birth of a baby and prayers for children, so it was a very moving experience!

Inside the temple in the limestone cave, we were able to eat yellow spiced rice and slightly sweet brown rice 🍚 Both had a chewy texture similar to Japanese mochi rice, but the taste was unique 😋

In the area lined with souvenir shops near the parking lot,
we also had the opportunity to experience henna tattoos (RM25, about ¥800)!
The price varies depending on the design, but it was a reasonable price and they drew it quickly 😊

A little further away, there was a statue of Hanuman, the god of Hindu mythology, and in the square there, vegetarian nasi lemak was served for free 🍚

*It is customary to eat with your hands, so we recommend bringing a spoon, fork, wet tissue, etc. 🥄

*The tread of the stairs is very narrow, so we recommend sneakers or bare feet that are easy to walk in! I climbed barefoot 🦶

*Wild monkeys ran away stealing tourists' food and belongings 🙊 If you go sightseeing, please be careful not to let them steal your things ⚠️ The monkeys were cute when you saw them up close 🐵
