Chenghuang is the god of city protection worshipped in Taoism

'Juyongguan Duchenghuang Temple' is located in the city of Juyongguan in Beijing. It was first built during the Hongwu period of the Ming Dynasty and was renovated in 1997. It is currently the largest temple in the Great Wall of Juyongguan. This temple is a Duchenghuang temple with a high status among the Chenghuang temples in China. The Chenghuangye worshipped in the temple is General Xu Da, a founding hero of the Ming Dynasty. The temple also has Chenghuang, Yanwang, Mountain God, and Earth God. There is a stage in front of the temple. During the grand ceremony, the incense case will be placed on the stage, and then opera will be performed to enrich the life of the city guards.
