The Pinnacle of Ancient Society Architecture.

Visiting the imperial capital Beijing, two essential places are the Forbidden City and the Great Wall. Having watched many palace dramas in my childhood, I was so excited when I stepped into the Forbidden City. Approaching the Meridian Gate, one is struck by the solemnity and majesty of the ancient royal architecture, truly admirable of Emperor Yongle, Zhu Di. 'The emperor guards the nation's gate, the king dies for the state,' what a heroic sentiment. The Forbidden City, now the Palace Museum, is entirely surrounded by a moat, filled with historical relics and stories from the Ming and Qing dynasties. Although many structures have been rebuilt, they are still very worth visiting, as many are reconstructed using ancient techniques, which can be seen in many documentaries. Remember to rent their audio guide service; with each palace you visit, you can listen to the history narrated by the device. I was amazed at how incredible the architecture and design of our ancestors were. I spent the whole day in the Forbidden City, which is truly vast and magnificent, a must-visit place in one's lifetime
