Revisiting Forbidden City’s Off the Beaten Path

🍁Autumn is here and Beijing transforms with spectacular autumn colors. Both first time and seasoned travelers all come to Beijing and Forbidden City is definitely a must visit when in Beijing. The size of the place makes it easy to get lost and confuse photography savvy travelers. This post hopefully can take you to a detour, off the beaten path, and away from the crowds to find spots that may show a new perspective of the vast Forbidden City and introduces interesting spots for photos.

From the Tai He Men (太和门) of Forbidden City , take the left route via Xi He Men (熙和门) keep following the path straight until Long Zong Men (隆宗门).

📸Photo Spots:

1️⃣ 熙和门 from the gate overlooking the water canal and back of 午门 (Wu Men).
2️⃣ Yellow ginko and Persimmon trees with red wall along the path from Duan Hong Bridge (断虹桥).
3️⃣ Antique Park Bench and Lamppost with Ginko Trees near You Yi Men (右翼门).
4️⃣ Interior of a gift shop (图书文创) tucked inside the Bing Jiao (冰窖) rest area.
