Liang Sicheng once said, "The unique and magnificent order of Beijing is established by this central axis. No other nation in the East or West has such a love and adherence to the symmetry of the central axis."
Today, "Beijing Central Axis—Masterpiece of the Order of the Ideal Capital of China" has been listed as a World Heritage Site. Famous attractions such as Yongding Gate, Tiananmen Gate, the Forbidden City, Jingshan Park, and the Bell and Drum Tower are all located on the central axis. It not only reflects the ancient East's pursuit of harmony, order, and symmetrical beauty, but also reflects China's brilliant idea of "unity of heaven and man" since ancient times.
The central axis is the backbone and soul of Beijing. It affects not only Beijing's past, but also its future.
The newly built Daxing Airport is located on the extension of the central axis. The Mu Mian Hua Hotel, where I'm staying after landing, is located in the terminal building of Daxing Airport. Mu Mian Hua Hotel combines traditional Chinese aesthetics with modern design. It has a cultural and creative space of more than 2,000 square meters, with a wide variety of books, cultural and creative products, and accessories.
