Looking for something special to eat in Beijing, I decided to visit a real local seafood restaurant instead of a street vendor. At first, I thought it was an aquarium shop—there were abalones, octopuses, sea cucumbers, and even geoducks swimming around.
🐛 Geoduck Rice… Crazy? Yes, I tried it.
They serve geoduck on top of rice, like a bibimbap. And the taste? Surprisingly good! The chewy texture combined with a sauce similar to gochujang (Korean chili paste) made it almost odorless. The first bite was out of curiosity, but by the second bite, I was sold.
🐚 A full spread of seafood dishes
We ordered steamed, stir-fried, grilled, and fried dishes—basically one of each type. The portions were generous, and the flavors were bold, making beer go down smoothly. The garlic-loaded stir-fried clams were especially amazing—perfect for Korean taste buds!
💀 Stinky Tofu Fries… The smell knocked me out, but I endured the taste.
Honestly, the smell was like a trash can left out for three days. But once fried, the outside was crispy, and the inside was incredibly soft tofu. The first piece made me think, "Hmm, not bad," but by the second piece, I was done. Only true enthusiasts of authentic Chinese experiences should attempt this.

📍 In summary
A seafood restaurant in Beijing is a chaotic feast for both your taste buds and curiosity. It’s surprising while you eat, and memorable afterward. This is what travel is all about—creating lasting memories.
