Pearl Shoal Waterfall in Jiuzhaigou

Located in the Rize Gully of Jiuzhaigou, Pearl Shoal Waterfall is one of the largest travertine waterfalls in the scenic area. Perched at a high elevation and spanning an impressive width, it is fed by melting snowwater that cascades forcefully onto the uneven travertine surface. The impact sends countless glistening water droplets flying into the air, resembling scattered pearls—hence its name. With its majestic and powerful presence, the waterfall produces a deafening roar as its churning, whitish waters rush down, making it the most turbulent and thunderous rapid in all of Jiuzhaigou.
