Located just north of the Forbidden City, Jingshan Park was once the imperial garden of the Ming and Qing dynasties. At its heart stands Jingshan Hill, the highest point in central Beijing — an artificial hill built from the earth excavated during the construction of the imperial moats and palaces.
Climb to the summit pavilion, and you’ll be rewarded with a breathtaking panoramic view of the Forbidden City’s golden rooftops stretching into the distance. It’s one of the best photography spots in Beijing, especially at sunrise or sunset.
Highlights:
📷 Best view of the Forbidden City from the hilltop.
🌳 Peaceful atmosphere with winding paths, cypress trees, and shaded corners perfect for quiet walks.
