Tucked away in the Ao-no-Oka forest of Biei-cho, Hokkaido, the photography gallery "Takushinkan" founded by landscape photographer Maeda Shinzo is open to the public for free. The three generations of his descendants have taken photos of the hills over half a century.

The works in the gallery are colorful and fully display the beauty of the hills of Biei. In addition to photographic works, some photographic equipment is also displayed, and calendars, books and photographic film development photos are sold.

Next to the Takushinkan is a birch forest, with towering trees forming a verdant corridor path. This is also a favorite place for photographers to take pictures.
