Biei Town, Hokkaido - Takushinkan

Hokkaido Takushinkan is a photography museum in Biei that showcases the beauty of the hills throughout the four seasons. Even on rainy days, one can experience the profound beauty of Hokkaido's scenery.

As I entered the museum, I was greeted by a series of photographs capturing the four seasons of Biei, from the vibrant green hills of spring to the snow-covered world of winter. Each image whispers the magnificence of Hokkaido.

The museum's spacious interior and soft lighting allow for a quiet appreciation of the works. I particularly like an autumn photo, where the golden birch trees shimmer in the setting sun, as if time has frozen in that moment. Outside the museum, one finds a birch forest corridor planted by Mr. Maeda. The swaying shadows of the trees and the gentle breeze are enough to make one slow down. In summer, the lavender fields bloom, creating a dreamlike scene of purple blossoms against the blue sky.

Even on a cloudy day, the hills surrounding Takushinkan remain captivating. The mountains in the distance loom, shrouded in mist, adding a mysterious touch to the landscape. The museum also features a merchandise section selling postcards and souvenirs themed around Hokkaido's nature.

Takushinkan is open year-round, offering a unique experience in each season. Admission is free, making it a must-see cultural attraction during your trip.
