🇮🇹 Bologna, Italy 📍 One-Day Trip Itinerary Suggestions⛪️🛍️

Bologna is an inland city in northern Italy, about an hour's train ride from Rimini. It's not a remote destination, but it's not a popular tourist destination either!

Bologna surprised and impressed me, mainly because the city is so classical, preserving many historical buildings while also being revitalized. Many restaurants and shops have been integrated into the old buildings, making it truly unique! This city is perfect for photo ops 📸 and shopping 🛍️

Here are the attractions I visited during my trip to Bologna:

📍Towers of Bologna
-These two towers are famous landmarks in Bologna and are among the most complete surviving towers in the city, built around the 12th and 13th centuries.
-Torre degli Asinelli
-Torre degli Garisenda

📍Oratorio di Santa Cecilia Bologna
📷While passing by, I noticed the semicircular arcades outside are perfect for photos 🥰

📍Piazza Santo Stefano Bologna + Piazza Santo Stefano Santo Stefano
-The Basilica of Santo Stefano is a very old church, also known as the "Seven Basilicas," because it is composed of seven different churches, giving it the feel of a medieval monastery.
-Near the square are many shops and restaurants, so you can enjoy shopping or dining after visiting the sights.

📍Basilica di San Petronio
-This is the largest and most important Gothic church in Bologna's central square. The two sides of the church are asymmetrical. It's said that the government at the time ran out of money to continue construction halfway through, so they had no choice but to leave it as is. No wonder the church looks unfinished.

📍Biblioteca comunale dell’Archiginnasio
-Originally part of the University of Bologna, it's now a public library. The interior of this building is absolutely stunning 😍Great for photos! 📷It feels like both a palace and a museum ✅A must-see!

📍Piazza Nettuno + Fontana di Nettuno (Piazza Nettuno and the Fountain of Neptune)
-The Fountain of Neptune is the symbol of Bologna. Built between 1563 and 1566, the bronze statue of Neptune is a resemblance to Neptune from Roman mythology. It's quite majestic.

📍Canale di Reno (Little Venice)
-Opening the small window, you can see "Little Venice." Unfortunately, the water was dry when we visited. 😂If you want to see Little Venice, you must visit in spring or summer.

We stayed in Bologna for one night. We spent half a day exploring the sights on our arrival day and half a day shopping on our departure day. It was perfect timing, perfect 🙌🏻
