Smithills Hall is the perfect place for Halloween. The building itself feels atmospheric with its ancient timbered halls and creaking floors, but during October the ghost tours bring it to life — or rather, the afterlife! We joined an evening event and were fascinated by the history of the house, from its medieval roots to ghostly legends. The guide told chilling stories about monks, grey ladies, and footsteps on the stairs. It wasn’t just a haunted attraction; it was history woven with mystery. Walking through those dimly lit corridors gave us goosebumps. A true Halloween highlight. #hellohalloween
