🇰🇷Busan ʙᴜsᴀɴHaedong Yonggungsa Temple
Today I’d like to introduce the Haedong Longgong Temple, which is so beautiful that you’ll want to visit it again!
*The most effective place for making wishes, Haedong Yonggungsa Temple *
It is the only temple in Korea built on the seaside.
Now that you are in Busan, why not take a pious wish-making trip~
Haedong Yonggung Temple is one of the three major Guanyin holy sites in South Korea.
Because of the combination of sea, dragon and Guanyin Buddha, this place has a deeper religious meaning than other places.
Legend has it that if you pray sincerely at Haedong Yonggungsa Temple, the Bodhisattva will appear in your dream and grant you one of your wishes.
We took the bus from Haeundae, and it seems that you can also take the Donghae Line (but we did not take it)
Haedong Yonggung Temple is really beautiful, especially when the weather is good.
It’s so beautiful that I don’t want to leave.
When you get off the bus, you will see the stone tablet of "Haedong Longgong Temple", which means you have arrived! Let’s start walking inside!
It was spring when we went there, so the roadside was full of cherry blossoms! It's the super beautiful cherry blossoms~ Busan in spring is so beautiful no matter how you look at it~ಥ_ಥ
After entering, there will be statues of the twelve Earthly Branches, which are our twelve zodiac signs. There is a traffic safety tower at the entrance, symbolizing safe driving.
The stone tablet of the 108 Longevity Stairs says that every step you take represents the elimination of one worry, so when you finish walking through the stairs, 108 worries will be eliminated.
On the stairway, you will encounter the "Academic Achievement Buddha" for praying for academic success.
I happened to pick up some cherry blossoms on the road, so I offered them to Buddha and prayed for academic progress and wisdom.
In addition to cherry blossoms, there are also Busan's city flowers along the way.
The bright red of the "Winter Cypress" flowers matches the color of the palace beautifully.
This time when I went there, there was an additional donation box for wishing leaves.
A wishing leaf is 5,000 won. Since you are here~
Of course I have to write about it.
Looking at the golden leaves, shining brighter under the sun, my wishes are shining✨
My Wish and Haedong Dragon Palace
After writing the wish, I returned to the temple to visit
Before entering the temple, you will pass the "Longmen Stone Bridge". There is a "Lucky Fortune" next to the stone bridge.
It’s the wishing pool. I love it so much because every time I go there I can successfully throw my wish into the basin! It's a sense of accomplishment.
After making a wish (of course I didn’t know whether I should make a wish first), I threw the coin in my hand into the basin.
In the end, they would empty out their coins just to throw them in (メ﹏メ)
When we went there around 10:00, there weren't too many people. There are a lot of stairs here that you have to go up and down, which is actually very inconvenient for those who are traveling with the elderly or children.
The main hall, the Great Hall of the Buddha ~ Because there seemed to be an event when we went there, we couldn't go in ~ Inside there is the largest stone statue in Korea made of a single stone - the Seawater Avalokitesvara Buddha, about 10 meters high, but we couldn't take pictures for everyone to see.
Since its construction, this place has not suffered any damage from natural disasters, which makes believers believe that this is a treasure land.
If you want to cleanse your soul, I highly encourage you to come here. When I left, I finally got to eat the marshmallow ice cream that I had always wanted to eat.
I couldn't find it in downtown Busan.
It is indeed the good luck of Haedong Yonggung Temple~
It's really delicious・◡・
