A New Chapter in History Education at Busan Democracy Park

Upon entering the Democracy Uprising Memorial Hall, I was struck by the impressive display of slogans, students' diaries, signature campaign posters, and leaflets from that era, all filling one side of the wall. The guide vividly explained how fiercely the youth of that time fought against societal injustices, emphasizing that the freedoms and rights we enjoy today were born from the courage and collective efforts of many. Touching the exhibits and watching testimonial videos in the screening room made the history feel less like a distant past and more like a story connected to my own life. Through this experience, I deeply realized that democracy is not an abstract concept far removed from us, but a value that every generation must strive to protect.
