The spirit of the region's times, Busan's pride

I hope many people will experience that Busan not only boasts beautiful seas, mountains, and cityscapes, but also places steeped in such a profound history. Democracy Park and the Democracy Movement Memorial Hall are impressive even to outsiders, but for Busan residents, their significance is even deeper. Born and raised in Busan, I feel a connection to this history every time I visit. At the memorial hall, I witnessed the solidarity and unity forged by local residents, and I realized that Busan once served as a pivotal point in South Korea's democratization movement. Even now, many people visit this place, perhaps because it goes beyond simply honoring the past and fosters a shared commitment to moving forward in a better direction. It was a visit filled with pride and satisfaction, a desire to preserve and share the zeitgeist of Busan.
