A temple embracing the sea, a healing walk at Haedong Yonggungsa

If I had to pick the most impressive place during my trip to Busan, it would undoubtedly be Haedong Yonggungsa Temple. Unlike most temples, which are nestled deep in the mountains and exude a serene and tranquil atmosphere, this temple offers a completely different experience right from the start. As you approach the entrance, the scent of the sea breeze greets you, and as you descend the stairs accompanied by the sound of waves, a breathtaking view unfolds, making it feel as if the temple is floating on the sea.
The dragon-shaped sculptures, bridges, and various Buddha statues create a unique ambiance, offering plenty to see even with a leisurely stroll. Particularly memorable was the 'Wishing Stone Bridge,' where visitors earnestly made wishes and tossed stones. I, too, quietly made a wish in my heart.
Despite being a temple, it has a lively atmosphere akin to a tourist destination, making it an enjoyable spot for everyone regardless of religious beliefs. With numerous picturesque spots, it's highly recommended for couples and family travelers. They say the scenery is even more spectacular at sunrise or sunset, so I definitely want to visit again during those times.
