Conquer Yushan Mountain with Ease! Guide to the Eagle Trail and Family Loop Trail

✅Qingya Tea Garden (Shanwanli Branch) parking costs 10💰/time and is close to the entrance, recommended for parking on working days
✅Or Longdian No.1 Parking Lot (🅿️🆓, about 6 minutes walk to Yushan entrance, easier to park during holidays)

🚄Take high-speed train to Changshu Station, then about 20 minutes by taxi
🚌Starting from March 29, 2025, the convenient "Eagle Line" customized bus service is officially open. 1💰/person, take it from Changshu Station directly to the starting point of Yushan Eagle Trail—Longtan Scenic Area. Reduce travel fatigue and spend more of your valuable leisure time in nature.

Departure times: Changshu Station 8:15, 9:15, 10:15; Dingshan Village Bus Stop 15:00, 16:00, 17:00
Operating period: Non-working days from March 29 to June, and September to November

Yushan has been developed with several routes drawn by fellow travelers. These include:
1️⃣The "Eagle Trail" for advanced hikers, with detailed route maps available at Two Steps Road (about 7h, 12km)
🌟Highlights:
✅Old House Station: Take photos at the old house windows (coffee and sausages available nearby)
✅Famous Rock: Looks thrilling at first glance, perfect for showing off on social media
✅Wanghu Pavilion: Turn left at the Famous Rock onto the road, climb some steps to reach it and enjoy the view of Shanghu Lake
✅Songfeng Pavilion: Head east along the path from Wanghu Pavilion, built in memory of national hero Qu Shisi
✅Jianmen Three Lives Stone: A giant boulder that fell from the top of Yushan but was caught by three stacked long stones, frozen in time

‼️At this point you've completed most of the Eagle Trail. Those with limited energy can take the cable car down. If you still have energy, continue the challenge.

✅Jianmen Cloud Rest Station: Stop to rest and buy snacks to replenish energy. Turn left at Guixiang Garden, go down the stone steps and wooden walkway to reach Lianzhu Cave.
✅Lianzhu Cave: A hugely photogenic spot. With a ray of sunlight from above ☀️, and sometimes even a small waterfall when it rains. It feels like you could travel through time and space through this cave
✅Longdian: The endpoint. There's a Longdian Rest Station after you exit Lianzhu Cave and follow the path

2️⃣Family Small Loop (about 3h, 9km)
Qingya Tea Garden➡️Longtan Waterfall➡️Meet Coffee (Old House)➡️Lianzhu Cave (very photogenic)➡️Cloud Station Tea Garden
Option 1:➡️Cable car ticket office➡️Take cable car down
Option 2:➡️Skip cable car, complete the small loop➡️Sanfeng Qingliang Zen Temple (vegetarian noodles available, the two century-old catalpa trees at the temple entrance are about to bloom)➡️Return to starting point

‼️TIPS:
✅At the beginning of the climb there's a small stream that is the source of Longtan Waterfall, where children can play in the water
✅You can bring a bottle of water to drink along the way, as there are many places selling water. Suggest bringing some snacks as the mountain only offers tea eggs, dried orchid, sausages and other small bites. Restaurants are available only after you come down the mountain.
✅For the family loop, recommend bringing children kindergarten age or older, as carrying younger ones for the second half would be too difficult
✅Wearing athletic clothing makes the climb more comfortable, your toes will thank you on the descent
✅Bringing a hiking pole saves energy, definitely recommended. They're also sold at the foot of the mountain.
