Preparing for Your Trip
Recommended Time: August - September is the most beautiful time of year, as it's the rainy season when the purple Crested Iris flowers are in full bloom. However, be careful of leeches and slippery paths.
Physical Condition: The hike up to Phu Soi Dao takes approximately 4-6 hours. The trail is steep and requires continuous walking. Be prepared with regular exercise in advance.
Reservations: It's recommended to reserve a tent site and porters (if needed) in advance, especially during long holidays or festivals.
Trails and Precautions
The trek to the summit of Phu Soi Dao is divided into five slopes: Song Yat Hill, Prab Sien Hill, Pa Ko Hill, Suea Krong Hill, and Marana Hill. Each slope presents its own unique challenge.
Song Yat Hill: The first and relatively steep slope.
Prab Sien Hill: The steepest and longest slope.
Pa Ko Hill: The shady area.
Suea Krong Hill: The steep slope with many tree roots.
Marana Hill: The last slope before the tent site.
Along the way, there are streams and waterfalls for resting. Upon reaching the summit of Phu Soi Dao, you'll be greeted by a vast field of Crested Nymphaeum flowers.

Prepare Equipment
Clothing: Clothing should be quick-drying and breathable, as rain and sweat can make it difficult to get wet.
Shoes: Hiking shoes are recommended to prevent slipping and provide good foot support.
Backpack: A sturdy, waterproof backpack should be available.
Rain gear: Raincoats (pants and jackets), a rain hat, and a backpack cover.
Leach protection: Leech spray.
Camping equipment: If you don't rent from the park, bring a tent, sleeping bag, and cooking equipment.
If you don't want to carry heavy items, porters are available for a fee based on the weight of your belongings.
