✨Huanglongxi Ancient Town, located approximately 40 kilometers southeast of
Chengdu, is a historic town with over 1,700 years
of history. It's renowned for its well preserved
Qing dynasty architecture, including seven ancient
streets paved with cobblestones, three historic
temples--Zhenjiang Temple, Chaoyin Temple,
and Gulong Temple- and traditional residences
The town's scenic beauty and cultural heritage
make it a popular destination for both tourists and
filmmakers.
🚙Getting There:
For a day trip from Chengdu, you can take a
bus from the Xinnanmen Bus Station. Buses to
Huanglongxi depart every 20 minutes between 8:00
AM and 5:30 PM, with a journey time of about one
hour. The bus ticket costs approximately 14 yuan
per person.
You can also take a taxi or didi there which costs
about 90 yuan which we did, the taxi ride there takes about 40 minutes from city centre
🌸Things to Do:
Explore Ancient Streets: Stroll through the
well-preserved streets dating back to the Ming
and Qing dynasties,lined with traditional wooden
buildings and shops offering local crafts and
snacks.
🕍Visit Historic Temples: Discover the town's rich
religious heritage by visiting temples such as
Zhenjiang, Chaoyin, and Gulong, each showcasing
traditional Chinese architecture and cultural
significance.
Tips:
Best Time to Visit: Huanglongxi Ancient Town is
suitable for visiting year-round. However, visiting
during weekdays is recommended to avoid larger
crowds.
*we went on a Sunday which is relatively crowded
Admission: Entry to the town is free, making it an
accessible destination for all travelers
Duration: Plan to spend around 2-3 hours exploring
the town to fully appreciate its historical sites and
ambiance.
**We also tried lots of local delicacies there, there's snacks and bubble tea available on the food streets so don't worry about food!
