Silver Ubosot, Wat Sri Suphan, Chiang Mai Province
🙏This is an ancient temple in Chiang Mai built during the reign of King Mueang Kaew, the King of Chiang Mai.
🙏The Silver Ubosot is designed in the Lanna style, made of silver and tin metal by local craftsmen who specialize in silverware. Both the interior and exterior of the Ubosot are decorated with silverware with graceful patterns. Inside, there is a principal Buddha image, which the locals call Phra Chao Chet Tue, a Buddha image in the Mara-Vijaya attitude, made of bronze. The temple strictly prohibits women from entering the Silver Ubosot, as sacred objects, valuables, spells, and amulets more than 500 years old are buried under the base of the Ubosot.
🙏Phra Chao Chet Tue is one of the three important Buddha images in the Phra Tue lineage, believed to be one of the most beautiful Buddha images in Lanna. There are stories about the miracle Buddha (Phra Chao Chet Tue) that, during the time it was enshrined as the principal Buddha image in the Ubosot of Wat Sri Suphan for more than 500 years, performed a miracle by bathing in the pond next to the chapel. Please be merciful to those with pure minds and morality who come to ask for blessings to have their wishes fulfilled. There are also psychics or people with special knowledge, both Thai and foreign, who have felt the power of 3 pairs: Yin-Yang power, Hot-Cold power, and Silver-Gold power in the statue of Luang Por Phra Chao Chet Tue.
