Every year in Chiang Mai Province, there is a ceremony to pay homage to Inthakhil or Chiang Mai City Pillar to build morale and provide good fortune to the locals, including those who are involved in agriculture who want rain to fall in season.

Therefore, the Phra Chao Fon Saen Ha, the Buddha image of Chiang Mai, which the people of Chiang Mai believe can bring rain, was invited to preside over the procession around the city for people to pour water to pay homage and bring good fortune to their lives.

And when the traditional ceremony of offering flowers ends, The Lord of Rain will be invited back to Wat Chang Taem as before.
