- Address: Phra Pok Klao Rd., Si Bhum Subdistrict, Mueang District, Chiang Mai (in the middle of the old city, in the square moat)
- Directions:
- 🚶 Walking: If staying in the old city area (e.g. near Tha Pae Gate), walk for 10-15 minutes
- 🚌 Songthaew: Take the city bus and say "go to Wat Chedi Luang"
- 🛵 Grab/motorcycle
- 🚗 Parking: There is a free parking lot in front of the temple (But parking is full quickly!)

⏰ Opening-closing hours
- The temple is open every day from 06:00 to 17:00.
- Chedi Luang and the temple: Open until 17:00.
- The most beautiful time:
- Morning from 06:00 to 08:00 (golden light + peaceful atmosphere)
- Evening from 16:30 to 17:30 (soft sunlight + soft light)

- ⚠️ Things to know:
- The important Buddha image (Phra Attharot) is in the small temple. Open only from 08:00 to 16:30.
- Sao Inthakhil (the main pillar of the old city) is in the temple grounds. Open all the time.

🏯 Highlight activities & things not to miss

1. **Worship the "Chedi Luang", the giant in the middle of the city
- 82 meters high (used to be 98 meters high before the storm destroyed the top) Built during the reign of King Saen Mueang Ma (15th century)
- See the traces of the earthquake in 1545 + the sculpture of the 5-headed Naga
- ✨ At night ** (19:00-22:00 hrs.) The pagoda is lit up with magnificent golden lights!

2. **Worship "Phra Attharot", the Buddha statue in the attitude of granting forgiveness.**
- The standing Buddha is **8 cubits tall**, cast from bronze, covered in gold leaf.
- Located in the small hall behind the pagoda.

3. **See "Sao Inthakhil", the main pillar of the Lanna city.**
- Located under the large teak pavilion in the middle of the temple.
- Northerners believe that this is the spiritual center of Chiang Mai.

4. **Join the "Talk to the Monk" activity.**
- Talk to monks in English. **Every day from 09:00 - 18:00 hrs.**
- Learn about Buddhism up close for free!

5. **Worship the Buddha of your birth date in all 8 temples.**
- There are temples surrounding the pagoda. Each house houses the Buddha of the day of birth.

6. **See the 600-year-old Yang Na tree**
- In front of the temple, the tall tree is linked to the city legend.
