Chiang Mai 4-Day Itinerary Recommendation

This is the first temple built by King Mangrai before he established the city of Chiang Mai, over 700 years ago. I have been coming to pay respects at this temple since I was a child, and I feel proud every time I share its history with foreigners. A significant historical artifact here is the stone inscription that clearly records the date and time of the temple's construction or the city's founding (which is rare to find in Thailand from the same era). Note: Women are prohibited from entering the southern ordination hall where the stone inscription is located.
The sacred icons of this temple are the White Emerald Buddha and the Phra Sila Buddha, originally from the ancient Lavo Kingdom, approximately 1,000 years old (located in the northern viharn as shown in the picture). This is another must-visit temple.
