Wat Phan Thao

General Information & History
• Wat Phan Tao is located in the heart of Chiang Mai on Phra Pok Klao Road, Phra Singh Subdistrict, Mueang District, Chiang Mai Province.
• This temple is a public temple belonging to the Maha Nikaya sect, covering approximately 2 rai, 3 ngan, and 86 square wah.
• It was originally called "Wat Phan Tao" or "Wat Phan Tao," which means "making merit once will bring a thousandfold merit."
• One of its highlights is the "Wihan Ho Kham Luang," built entirely of teakwood in the Lanna/Chiang Saen style.
• Legend has it that this area was once home to countless Buddha images cast in the "Phan Tao" kiln, hence the temple's name.

• If coming from major tourist attractions such as Wat Chedi Luang, it's within walking distance. 
• By Car: Park on the roadside or find parking nearby, as the temple grounds are located within the city limits and parking may be limited.
• Recommended Time: Early morning or off-peak hours for beautiful photos and a better atmosphere.
• Tip: Take photos at the carved wooden gates and arches, as well as the teakwood vihara, to capture the details of Lanna architecture.
