📒...Wat Doi Ngam Muang is an ancient temple on a small hill and is home to the King Mengrai Memorial, enshrining the ashes of King Mengrai the Great. Built by Phaya Chaisongkhram, King Mengrai's son, it contains the royal ashes.
📸...After King Mengrai passed away in Chiang Mai in 1317, his son, Phaya Chaisongkhram, cremated the body and moved the ashes to Doi Ngam Muang.
📸...In 1487, Phraya Sararat Ngernthong renovated the temple and renamed it "Wat Doi Ngam Muang."
