Fenqihu Old Street

Fenqihu is not only famous for its bento boxes but also for its cherry blossom season, which is full of surprises. Around the old street and along the forest trail, rows of cherry blossoms quietly bloom every spring. Unlike the grand spectacle of Alishan, Fenqihu's cherry blossoms offer a subtle beauty hidden in the alleys. Last time, I followed the path from the station to the observation deck and discovered a whole row of blooming cherry blossoms at the corner, paired with century-old wooden houses that exude a nostalgic charm.

Especially when paired with the old street's traditional desserts, grass jelly cakes, and railway bento boxes, enjoying them under the cherry blossom trees adds a unique touch. Fenqihu's altitude and climate make the cherry blossoms particularly vibrant. Although the blooming season is slightly later than Alishan's, it also avoids the crowds. If you enjoy eating while admiring the scenery, taking leisurely strolls, and capturing retro-style photos, then Fenqihu in spring will not disappoint.
