Chiayi Meishan Nature Mountain Tour

Besides the must-see Alishan in Chiayi, don't miss the Taiping Cloud Ladder in Meishan. This suspension bridge, floating amidst the mountains, is known as the Cloud Ladder because it's nestled amidst the hills and often shrouded in mist. The Taiping Cloud Ladder offers stunning views. Although we didn't see a sea of clouds that day, the clear skies and air provided a breathtaking view, allowing us to take in all the scenery.

After passing the Yunzhinan Trail, which connects the Taiping Cloud Ladder with the Xiaozi Road Trail, you'll be greeted by a vast bamboo forest reminiscent of a martial arts film. This is the Xiaozi Road Trail, a popular attraction in Alishan. After about a 15-minute walk, you'll see the Xiaosi Pavilion.

After visiting the Taiping Cloud Ladder in Meishan, Chiayi, don't miss the delicious food of nearby Taiping Old Street. Located about a five-minute walk from the Taiping Cloud Ladder Visitor Center, it's famous for its Japanese colonial-style architecture, food stalls, and nearby suspension bridge. Compared to other old streets, this area offers a more down-to-earth feel, less bustling. We'd like to recommend some snacks, such as traditional fried rice cakes, winter melon tea, and the fluffy Taiping cloud cake, all of which are Taiping Old Street specialties.
-Next to Taiping Old Street, there's a restaurant called "Air Library," a literary-inspired restaurant inspired by the literary writer Zhang Wenhuan. This book-less library-café is filled with greenery, offering a relaxing atmosphere. The library is divided into two areas, offering an open, airy atmosphere, a semi-indoor space. One area is free to enter and is primarily used for plant displays, as the library sells plants. For dining, the other area is open to the dining area.
