
Jiangpan Village, formerly known as Futan, is located in Yanxi Town, Taihe County, Ji'an City, Jiangxi Province. Originating in the Northern Song Dynasty and flourishing during the Ming and Qing dynasties, it boasts a millennium-old history and is known as the "Luling Cultural Village" and "the premier village of Gan merchants in Jiangnan." Surrounded by the river and shaded by lush trees, Jiangpan Village boasts a unique natural environment, with a thousand acres of meadow in front and verdant mountains behind. The village embodies the Gan-style architecture, a picturesque setting amidst the natural beauty of mountains and water.
Jiangpan Ancient Village boasts a rich historical and cultural landscape. With a rich history stretching back a millennium, the village boasts over 100 preserved ancestral halls, academies, pawnshops, and residential buildings in the architectural styles of the Ming and Qing dynasties. Surrounding the village are ancient camphor trees, post roads, ferries, dikes, docks, theaters, mills, temples, and nunneries, as well as protected ancient bridges and pagodas.
Jiangpan Ancient Village embodies a unique Chinese village feng shui culture. Nestled against the backdrop of mountains and facing the water, the ancients, taking advantage of the unique terrain, water system, and environment, created a unique Jiangpan feng shui culture, including scenic features such as "Oxen Lying on the Pond," "Seven Star Ancient Pond," "Wen Tower Facing the Creek," "Pen Holder Camphor," "Mulberry Tree," and "Dwelling by the Water."
With a subtropical monsoon humid climate, the ancient village by the river offers visitors the natural beauty of the ancient floating pond and the ancient flower and stone pond. It is a great place to visit in all seasons.
The main attractions of the ancient village on the riverside include Futan, Huashitan, Kuixing Tower, Nanwu Bridge, Ganjiang River and Qushui River, thousand-year-old camphor tree, Zhongjiatang Reservoir, academy and library, etc.
