Dawn on Mountain City Trail: Where Chongqing’s Heartbeat Comes Alive

We visited Chongqing’s Mountain City Trail early in the morning—my favorite among the city’s many walking streets. Half of it is a lively residential area brimming with local charm, while the other half is a trendy commercial zone perfect for photo ops. The shops and cafés add fun to the stroll, while the old neighborhoods remind me of everyday life in Chongqing. We stopped at a famous shop for sweet and salty glutinous rice balls),then took in the breathtaking riverside and cityscape views as Chongqing slowly woke up to the day. The hum of morning chatter, the scent of street food, and the distant sound of ships on the Yangtze—all blended into the city’s unique symphony.
