Complete Three Gorges Cruise Guide

Taking a luxury cruise through the Three Gorges is truly worth it✨

Everyone, I just finished an incredibly amazing luxury cruise trip on the Three Gorges from Chongqing🚢 4 days and 3 nights, sailing from Chongqing Chaotianmen Pier all the way to Yichang. I immersed myself in the magnificent scenery of the Three Gorges and enjoyed all kinds of delicious food. This trip was really worth it! Now, I’m sharing this super detailed guide with you all👇

🎈Itinerary:
Day 1: Board at Chongqing Chaotianmen Pier → Enjoy the night view of Chongqing’s two rivers
Just after 6 PM, I boarded the Century Kaige, a luxury cruise costing 300 million yuan. I was amazed as soon as I stepped on board! The cruise is 150 meters long and 7 stories high, fully equipped with a bar, KTV, cinema, and more. After boarding, I went to my room to drop off luggage. I booked a room with a private balcony, and the view was fantastic. In the evening, I watched the night view of Chongqing’s two rivers from the top deck. The lights of Hongya Cave were stunning, like a painting!

Day 2: Fengdu Pier → Fengdu Ghost City → Shibaozhai
On the second morning, we arrived at Fengdu and went ashore to visit Fengdu Ghost City. There were all kinds of haunted houses and the King of Hell’s Palace—super thrilling! If you’re brave, you must try it! In the afternoon, we visited Shibaozhai, a tower built on a solitary peak. It was breathtaking, showcasing the incredible architectural wisdom of ancient people👍

Day 3: Baidi City → Qutang Gorge → Wu Gorge → Goddess Peak
Day three was my most anticipated day! In the morning, we toured Baidi City, the place where Liu Bei entrusted his son, full of historical atmosphere. From Baidi Tower, you can see Kuimen, the background image on the 10-yuan bill—perfect for photos and check-ins! In the afternoon, the cruise sailed into Qutang Gorge, with towering peaks on both sides and rushing river water—truly spectacular! Then we passed through Wu Gorge and saw the elegant Goddess Peak, shrouded in mist, like a fairyland🧚‍♀️

Day 4: Three Gorges Ship Lift → Three Gorges Dam → Yichang
On the fourth day, we first experienced the mighty Three Gorges Ship Lift, feeling the fascinating water level difference. Then we visited the Three Gorges Dam, a super engineering marvel, truly a national treasure! In the afternoon, we arrived in Yichang, ending this unforgettable journey.

🍱Food Guide:
🥘Cruise Dining: The cruise offers five-star standard dining with both Western and Chinese buffets. You can enjoy all kinds of seafood, steak, desserts, and unlimited premium drinks. I was very satisfied with every meal, especially their Chongqing noodles, which tasted very authentic!
🥘Local Specialty Foods on Shore:

1. Salted Chicken: This is a non-heritage delicacy from Fengjie, made with mountain pine-smoked cured meat and farm chicken, plus aged pickled mustard greens, steamed with a special salted steam method. The broth is fresh and delicious, and both the chicken and cured meat are super tender. A must-try!

2. Wushan Grilled Fish: Charcoal-grilled with crispy skin and tender meat, combined with various side dishes. The more you eat, the more flavorful it gets. A must-eat in the Three Gorges!

3. Immortal Tofu: Also called Banjiao Leaf Tofu, it’s delicate and smooth with a great texture. Eating it in summer is refreshing and detoxifying. Many local snack stalls sell it for 5 yuan a bowl, very cost-effective!

4. Liangxia (Cold Shrimp): A specialty snack from Yichang, with a smooth and cool texture. It’s served with brown sugar water and lemon juice, sweet and sour, very refreshing. After a meal, a bowl of this is super comfortable!

💡Travel Tips:

1. Book your cruise in advance and choose a high-floor room with a balcony for better views.

2. Some activities on board are extra, like live shows or VIP restaurants. Choose according to your preferences.

3. When going ashore, it’s best to follow a guide to avoid getting lost.

4. Bring sunscreen and rain gear as the weather can be changeable, just in case.

This Chongqing Three Gorges cruise trip was truly amazing. I enjoyed breathtaking natural scenery and tasted all kinds of delicious food. It was really an unforgettable journey. Everyone, start planning now!💕
