This cyber-magical hiking route in the mountain city is amazing!
The Half-Mountain Cliff Line trail connects 5 major parks, featuring urban forests, cliffside paths, and river-view terraces—all completely free! 🚶♀️
📍 Route plan:
1️⃣ Pingdingshan Cultural Park (No. 159, Shixiaolu, Shapingba District)
It’s recommended to start at 8 AM from Pingdingshan Cultural Park. The Yangtze River viewing platform here offers unbeatable views, with Chaotianmen Raffles City and Qiansimen Bridge in the same frame. Don’t forget to snap a photo at the "I’m chasing the spaceship in Chongqing" spot 🚀
2️⃣ Half-Mountain Cliff Line Trail (Jiukengzi Road, Yuzhong District)
Walk 15 minutes to enter this magical trail! Be sure to photograph the suspended plank road at the Hongyan Village tunnel entrance; the side view of the monorail passing through buildings is super surreal. Tips: There’s a "Cliff Coffee" halfway along the cliff line, their mint iced Americano is very refreshing ☕
3️⃣ Hutouyan Park (Changhe Road, Yuzhong District)
Arrive at Hutouyan’s red aerial corridor by noon, offering a 270° panoramic view of Shapingba and Jiangbeizui. The viewing platform floor is made of transparent glass—those afraid of heights, beware! hhh The park also has a library converted from an air-raid shelter where you can cool off 📚
4️⃣ E’ling Park (No. 176, E’ling Main Street, Yuzhong District)
Head to the top floor of E’ling Park before dusk to the Kansheng Tower, where the lights of Yuzhong Peninsula begin to glow—an incredible sight! Remember to bring a wide-angle lens; the popular "Flying Eaves and Wall-Walking" photo spot is in the Hiroshima Garden Japanese courtyard ⛩️
💡 Useful Tips:
• The whole route is about 12 km, wear comfortable sports shoes! Some stairs are very steep
• There is little shade, so bring sunscreen spray
• E’ling Park clears out starting at 9:30 PM, plan your night view accordingly
• Few vending machines along the way, it’s recommended to carry 2 bottles of water
• From Hutouyan to Fotuguan, there’s a newly opened "Cliff Projection" that lights up after 7 PM and looks super dreamy
This route perfectly showcases Chongqing’s 8D three-dimensional feel, packing river views, cliff lines, monorails, and old buildings all in one! Next time, try walking it in reverse—rumor has it the night view is even more stunning 🌉
