Linh Ung Pagoda is far more than a monument—it's a place where architecture, nature, and spirituality converge to offer visitors a profound sense of peace and awe. Whether you're drawn by its art and design, the sweeping views, or its cultural significance, it truly is a must-visit in Da Nang, Vietnam 🇻🇳
✨Overview of Linh Ung Pagoda
📍Location & Significance
Linh Ung Pagoda (Linh Ứng) is situated on Son Tra Peninsula, to the north of Da Nang city. It’s considered a spiritual heart of the area and a revered site among locals and Buddhists alike.
🏗️Construction began around 2004 and was completed in 2010, taking about six years to finish.
🛕Goddess of Mercy (Lady Buddha) Statue
The pagoda's signature attraction is the 67-meter tall white statue of Guanyin (Lady Buddha), the tallest of its kind in Vietnam and among the tallest in the world. It stands on a lotus-shaped base 35 meters wide and is visible from many parts of Da Nang.
📍The statue is positioned with its back to the mountain and facing the sea—believed to offer protection to local fishermen and the city itself.
📍Inside the statue, there are 17 floors, each housing 21 smaller Buddha figures—a spiritual feature sometimes called the "Buddha within the Buddha".
