Affordable treasure hotel in Dalian, love it after just one stay!

Dalian Four Seasons | Experience the unique charm of a luxury hotel brand in Northeast China
🏨 Four Seasons Hotel Dalian
🏠 Executive Sea View Suite

Four Seasons Dalian is one of the rare luxury hotel brands in Northeast China in recent years. Among hotel brands in Northeast China associated with luxury, there are Harbin Ritz-Carlton, Changbai Mountain Park Hyatt, and this Four Seasons. The first two have relatively lenient public expectations due to their owners' financial situations. The affordable prices in Northeast China make it convenient to check in to luxury hotels, so there was some anticipation for this stay. After the actual experience, it was found that under the general environment of cost reduction and efficiency improvement, the operation of new luxury hotels indeed faces challenges, but it still maintains its own characteristics.

🧹 Soundproofing/Cleanliness:
The hotel opened in 2024, with brand-new decoration and good hygiene conditions. The overall cleanliness and comfort provide a refreshing living experience.

🏘️ Room Type/Layout:
Four Seasons Dalian is located in Donggang. Although it is not in the central business district and the surrounding area is under development, it has a unique vitality of a developing area. The Executive Sea View Suite mainly features harbor views (for sea views in Dalian, Hyatt is the first choice with a direct and open sea view), but the city view also has its own charm. The reserved standard city view room was upgraded to a deluxe city view room, with partial sea views. The lobby is on the 41st floor, and the full glass sea view is stunning. You can also enjoy the sea view in the lobby and breakfast room, so there is no need to specifically choose a sea view room.

🛌 Amenities/Facilities:
The room hardware performs excellently, but some minimalist design details can be seen. Although there are slight signs of use after half a year of operation, the overall condition remains good. The Four Seasons mattress is extremely comfortable, allowing for quick deep sleep; toiletries are from Florame, with a pleasant fragrance and great experience. Although the gym, swimming pool, and other facilities were not detailed, as a luxury hotel brand, the facility standards are worth expecting.

💗 Other Tips:

- In terms of service, Four Seasons has always been known for its service rather than relying on frequent guest programs. This stay truly felt the care of the service team. Guest relations, front desk, and restaurant staff were all enthusiastic and attentive. Coupled with the straightforward personality of Northeasterners, it made the whole experience pleasant.
- The location is in Donggang, a certain distance from the subway station. Although not as convenient as near Zhongshan Square, Donggang offers a rich variety of dining options; during peak hours, a taxi to coastal attractions takes about an hour.
- To reach the guest rooms, you first take an elevator from the 1st floor directly to the 41st floor, then transfer to a descending elevator. The circulation design is unique.
- Although the executive room includes lounge privileges, the executive lounge will be closed until February next year. Afternoon tea is served in the lobby bar, and Happy Hour is offered as a set menu. The welcome gift for first-time guests is three pieces of fruit; subsequent regular guests receive more generous welcome gifts. The hotel maintains guest loyalty by promoting membership cards (which effectively offer discounts to local consumers), which is also an operational attempt.
- Takeout must be picked up at the express cabinet on the first floor, and guests can arrange their own meal pickup time.
- Regarding dining, with a $200 credit, three hotel restaurants were experienced: the Huihai Buffet Restaurant’s breakfast was good, with freshly baked egg tarts; Xiyuexuan, a standard hotel Cantonese restaurant, had stable quality, with dim sum and seasonal dishes just right; the Japanese restaurant Sìyèjū was a highlight, possibly offering affordable hotel Omakase. Dalian seafood is abundant, with plump sea urchin. The Japanese chef has over 20 years of experience and operates smoothly, worth trying.
- Harbour Bar is worth a visit. It is not crowded and offers views of Dalian cityscape. Four Seasons’ cocktails are distinctive, and during events, guest bartenders from other Four Seasons hotels may appear (each Four Seasons bar leaves a deep impression).
- Breakfast options are relatively standard. There may be a wait during peak times. Coffee flavor could be improved, and there are no à la carte dishes yet. If you note a special occasion, the hotel will provide a small cake, which is very thoughtful.

Summary:
Although Four Seasons Dalian faces operational challenges, it still maintains the unique style of Four Seasons and is a good choice for those seeking quality and comfortable accommodation in Dalian. The newly opened decoration, comfortable mattress, high-quality service, and distinctive dining all leave a deep impression. While there is room for improvement in some details, overall, it is still worth experiencing.
